Japan Shotokan Karate (JSK) Renmei India, is Indian Chapter of Japan Shotokan Karate. Shotokan (松濤館 Shōtōkan) is a style of karate, developed from various martial arts by Gichin Funakoshi (1868–1957) and his son Gigo (Yoshitaka) Funakoshi (1906–1945). Gichin was born in Okinawa and is widely credited with popularizing "karate do" through a series of public demonstrations, and by promoting the development of university karate clubs, including those at Keio, Waseda, Hitotsubashi (Shodai), Takushoku, Chuo, Gakushuin, and Hosei.

Sensei Abdul Sathar A.C.K

He is The Founder Chief Instructor of Japan Shotokan Karate Renmei India, Founded in 1991. He in not limited only to teach Karate, it extends from participation in tournaments, judjing and refereeing.
Our Association id also providing male/female blackbelt instructors who are the winners of National/International champions. He have also handling karete classes for school and collage students.

Famous practitioners

Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida holds a 3rd dan black belt in Shotokan karate, while his brother Shinzo holds a 4th dan and their father Yoshizo Machida holds a 7th dan and was head of the Japan Karate Association's Brazilian branch.

Action movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme holds a 2nd dan black belt in Shotokan and used the style when he competed both in traditional and in full contact karate competitions in the 1970s and 1980s.

Michael Jai White has a 3rd dan in Shotokan, although he has long practiced other karate styles such as Kyokushin and Goju Ryu.
